Coming soon…

Breana was a trooper for this shoot. It was a cold day but we did some fun things with a unique setting. Thanks to Maria for her help setting us up in one of the most unique locations in Kansas City. Check it out on Facebook.

Fun People. Good Times. A Worthy Cause

On Friday Simon and Zachary shot for this year’s Ugly Sweater Christmas Party. It is the 3rd year Zachary has been a part of this great event that is held to support Operation Breakthrough.

Operation Breakthrough is an organization that supports Kansas City children. There are a wide variety of programs geared toward children who have wide ranging needs.

A brief description of how the party began from the website…

“The Ugly Christmas Sweater Party began in 2005 as a small holiday gathering in Brookside hosted by Ramsey Mohsen, Scott Aripoli, and Patrick Perkins. While cleaning up in 2007, we decided to turn all of our hard work in to good for others, and raise money for a charity.”

Westside Studio was excited to lend its services to this cause. The hard work of the steering committee coupled with the generosity of the sponsors, attendees, Tower Taven, and private donors made for the most successful event to date.

Our goal of raising $20,000 was demolished with the grand total exceeding $26,000 for Operation Breakthrough. Check out some of the photos from this special event and take some time to learn more about the imporant work Operation Breakthrough does for our community.

    Thanks for the props Tony!!

  • […] donated their time and services on behalf of their company, Westside Studio. Here are the official party pictures from this year’s […]

Fun little project to test out SLR-based stop motion that Simon and I worked on last night. Always nice when things come together.

Our friends at the Kansas City Wizards do a really good job connecting with the community, especially the youth. The Livestrong Army came out to the Wizard’s Swope Park Training facility to spend time with the team getting autographs and playing soccer. More about the event on the Hillcrest Road blog here as well as a wrap up on the team’s site here with a great video by Jake Yadrich.

It was a lot of fun seeing kids and the team have so much fun.

A few shots from downtown not far from the office. It was very early in the morning and I wanted to do something a little bit different. It is always good to keep shooting and creating even if it doesn’t have a direct business purpose.

The top photo of the Arts Complex looks otherworldly.

The blog is so far behind on all the photos and things that have been happening. We will just have to catch up one post at a time. There have been some great commercial shoots to talk about as well as some exciting partnerships but for now…

This is a session with Elise and 1 year old Hutson.

Every now and then a gig comes along that reminds you how fun it is to be a photographer. This was one of those sessions. I had a blast meeting these two and spending time in the park with him. It was so incredibly hot outside they were real troopers. Check out this awesome mom\son combo.

Great photo set! I love the one where they are both red-faced and hugging, a sure sign of a day well-spent. I’m sure they will cherish these photos forever.

It has been a wild time around WSS. It was nice to take a break and just have a relaxing night out in the crossroads. The weather turned out perfect and the crowd was better than I expected for a holiday weekend. Here are a few snapshots from the evening.
