The West Bottoms is one of my favorite places in Kansas City. Many artists call it home or at least have a studio there. Trucks rumble down its streets; I can catch an underground band at the Emerald Space and the train still runs by regularly. It’s a place that feels transient though most of the buildings are about a hundred years old. Driving home I caught this brilliant sunset one evening last week. It looked like the skies you see in 19th century landscape paintings.

ZOMG
I love this! (I’m assuming, though, that you weren’t driving and taking pictures at the same time.)
I had to twist Simon’s arm to post this to the site. I think it is really strong…love the rays towards the top.
