Westside Over The Weekend

The fun thing about being a photographer is work and play mix together quite nicely.

Friday afternoon was spent at Home Depot getting some supplies to perfect our backdrop setup using some tricks to get an “infinity looking” white background when we take shots.

Friday night was Jon and Janette Crawford’s going away party. Good friends of ours responsible for the amazing company that is Storenvy. They had a really nice gathering at their house so people could send them off to Austin, TX. A band called “For The Birds” led by Tim Bridgham played on the back deck. These three were ridiculously talented. Check out the audio I have posted below. It is taken from a flip cam but you can get a great feel for their sound.

I shot a gig in the P+L district late that night over at Howl At The Moon Piano Bar. There are always people who are outgoing that like to have fun at Howl. That usually makes for great photos.

On Saturday night Simon will be going to the Kansas City Symphony at the Lyric Theater while I will be enjoying the Kansas City Wizards soccer game as they play the Colorado Rapids.

Finally, on Sunday we are going to check out the “Heart of America Professional Photographers Image Expo” in Kansas City. If the trade show is as big as the name is long we should be in for a good day. It is exciting to find new ways to improve workflow and great products to help make what we deliver to clients better.
