This thread title is slightly misleading because Westside Studio has been active for a while now. Zachary Cobb and Simon Kuo have collaborated to form this business venture because of a shared love for photography and the community they live in.
We want you to connect with images.
Images are fun because they have varied goals and fill so many needs. Businesses need them to convey a feeling about themselves and their products in an attempt to paint a picture for their consumers. Couples on their wedding day trust their photographer to capture something that only happens once, to keep it forever. A piece of art can be something that makes you feel relaxed or be as simple as a photo of a child eating his first ice cream cone. We are serious in our role as the intermediary between life experiences and the images that chronicle them.
We LOVE Kansas City.
This is where we live and work. Kansas City has brought us amazing nights on the town and people who have shaped our lives. Westside Studio believes in the things going on in this city and the culture it has built. Whether your idea of a good night is going to the symphony or having a beer and a slice of pizza at Grinders there’s plenty to see and do. We look forward to capturing what we see in Kansas City as well as becoming involved in the community.
Keep an eye out for us.
Westside Studio is looking forward to beginning work. Even with a new space and brand new equipment, we are not comfortable resting on our reputation after shooting magazine covers, professional sporting events and commercial jobs for local businesses. We want to challenge ourselves and be a name that people and businesses trust to the deliver the photography they need.

Zach,
I’m excited to see Westside Studio take shape; the site looks great and I really dig the video on the homepage. Some of those shots of Kansas City are incredible and is that Mr. Culbertson proposing? He goes by so fast I had to watch it twice to make sure that was him…
Pete, thanks for dropping in. It absolutely is Chris proposing to his wife. I was there to take photographs of the whole thing it all worked as planned. They were married in October and actually have a little one on the way due July 4th! Life moves so quickly.
