Westside Studio is a photography collaboration between Zachary Cobb and Simon Kuo. Long independent photographers, within the co-op studio environment they are able to contribute their unique skills in art and business to deliver a different kind of creative vision. Their combined style of photography focuses on capturing life's key moments in fresh and striking ways. Specializing in lifestyle, wedding, commercial/editorial, fine art photography and portraiture, Westside's images showcase modern life in a way that connects businesses with customers and loved ones with important memories.
The perfect image can be elusive, but all important. Westside Studio was created to provide something that is too often missing from contemporary photography- artistic captures of life, business and the world that tell a story or reflect a fleeting but special moment. Whether a treasured memory, a business need or to express a creative impulse, we are driven by the thrill of finding and photographing indelible images. We look forward to helping you to capture yours.
Our friends at the Kansas City Wizards do a really good job connecting with the community, especially the youth. The Livestrong Army came out to the Wizard’s Swope Park Training facility to spend time with the team getting autographs and playing soccer. More about the event on the Hillcrest Road blog here as well as a wrap up on the team’s site here with a great video by Jake Yadrich.
It was a lot of fun seeing kids and the team have so much fun.
A few shots from downtown not far from the office. It was very early in the morning and I wanted to do something a little bit different. It is always good to keep shooting and creating even if it doesn’t have a direct business purpose.
The blog is so far behind on all the photos and things that have been happening. We will just have to catch up one post at a time. There have been some great commercial shoots to talk about as well as some exciting partnerships but for now…
This is a session with Elise and 1 year old Hutson.
Every now and then a gig comes along that reminds you how fun it is to be a photographer. This was one of those sessions. I had a blast meeting these two and spending time in the park with him. It was so incredibly hot outside they were real troopers. Check out this awesome mom\son combo.
July 21, 2010 - 11:25 pmNatasha - Great photo set! I love the one where they are both red-faced and hugging, a sure sign of a day well-spent. I'm sure they will cherish these photos forever.
It has been a wild time around WSS. It was nice to take a break and just have a relaxing night out in the crossroads. The weather turned out perfect and the crowd was better than I expected for a holiday weekend. Here are a few snapshots from the evening.
Took this photo while on a recent trip to Colorado. It’s amazing to think about the amount of time that was spent decades ago to make sure we have a way to travel from one side of the country to another. The symmetrical beauty of light and dark and the feeling of speed as one shoots through these mountain tunnels really spoke to me.
Sorry for the blog silence! Been a lot going on with client work, the World Cup, and other forces of life that get between us and blogging fun!
We are big fans of some of the treasures the east side of the city has to offer as frequent visitors to Mutual Musicians Foundation and the Brooklyn St. Arthur Bryant’s BBQ. However you don’t have to spend a lot of time in the area to see there are some spots doing better than others. Below are a few shots taken on a short walk through the neighborhood in the vicinity of 18th and Vine.
We just finished another commercial shooting session supporting video testimonials that a client was doing for their software product. It was four days of shooting in four different locations on a short timeline but everything came together so we were able finish on time. Here are a couple of shots from the sessions.

These are very beautiful photographs, with an inspirational view into your part of the world.
They have a quality of technique the somehow shows your personality, through imagery.
It is a great site altogether, and I will check back periodically to see what is new with you and your work. Thank You very much for sharing this!
